In recent weeks many Ohio readers probably tuned in as the celebrity divorce of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise took place at breakneck speed. And, in a recent post we discussed a divorce hotel in the Netherlands that allows couples to go through the entire divorce process in just a weekend. Will the trend catch on as more and more couples seek a quick divorce?
There are clear benefits to a speedy divorce. For starters, it allows you to avoid additional drama and stress. What's the point of dragging it out for months on end? In addition to the time you'll save, the money you'll save will benefit everyone involved.
Ending the relationship will give you the opportunity to move on and start your new life quicker. This includes starting a new relationship when you're ready to do so. It's much easier to move on to the next level with a new love when you can say that you're officially divorced.
Finalizing your divorce quickly is easier on the kids. Kids are affected when their parents are experiencing conflict with one another. Having your life in limbo puts their lives in limbo, too.
Lastly, ending your divorce allows you to join many others who are taking part in divorce ceremonies, otherwise known as divorce parties. A divorce party provides an opportunity to thank your friends and family members who have provided emotional support, encouragement, and a helping hand along the way. It also allows you to enjoy the extra time and money you'll have by finalizing your divorce instead of dragging it out.
